Orange County Coroner Department Overview

This law enforcement organization is composed of about 700 reserve personnel and over 4,000 active members. The internal structure of the department is composed from 36 subdivisions divided into 4 separately functions. The Orange County coroner department provides different security services for many other agencies such as the Superior Court, Airport, Transportation Authority, Health and Social Services are.

Orange County Coroner Department Internal Structure

The department is divided in five different divisions that present the appropriate subdivisions. Below, you are able to find the Department's internal structure.

• Uniform Patrol: This division provides Road Patrol officers covering different sectors. As well, it also includes Hazardous Device Team, Emergency Response Team, SWAT, Hostage Negotiation Team, K-9 Unit, Dive Team, Juvenile Monitor and Arrest Unit, Mounted Patrol and Agriculture and Marine Team.

• Criminal Investigations: This division contains the Forensic Unit, Property Crimes, Sexual Offender Squad, Homicide Unit, Robbery Unit, Sex Crimes, Childe Abuse Unit, Economic Crimes Unit, Auto Theft, Domestic Violence and Missing Persons Unit.

• Special Investigations: The Special Investigation teams are taking care of difficult cases, each of them representing a distinct unit such as Fugitives, Narcotics, Tactical Anti-Crime, Auto Trap, Felony Squad, Gang Unit, Traffic Section and Aviation.

• Administrative: The administrative division is taking care of the Orange Counter Coroner Department. It includes sections such as Fiscal Management, Employee Benefits, Communications, Information Services, Civil Processes, Media Relations and Fleet Management.

The officers belonging to different divisions are continuously trained and evaluated by professionals. All these divisions are working together for the best community safeguarding.
